Washington DC Immigration AttorneyExperienced in Immigration Law

Prior to founding her own practice, Elena worked as an attorney at an immigration law firm in Washington, D.C. for nearly five years.  While Elena’s practice concentrated on employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visas, she also managed a diverse caseload that included family-based immigration, naturalization, asylum, adjustment of status, consular processing, removal proceedings, and federal litigation.  She has substantial practical experience in nearly every facet of federal immigration laws, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Committed to Immigrants and the Public Interest

In addition to her law firm experience, Elena has conducted know-your-rights presentations on a variety of legal issues affecting immigrant groups, taught ESL classes to adult immigrants, and collaborated with local and national immigrant rights organizations.  Whether in the courtroom, the classroom, or one-on-one legal consultations, Elena has an established record of professionalism, treating clients with the courtesy and respect that they deserve.

Elena earned her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law, nationally recognized for its commitment to public interest law.  While at Northeastern, Elena completed full-time internships with the Immigration Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services, the Domestic Violence and Sex Offense Unit at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Judge Nancy Gertner at the U.S. District Court (District of Massachusetts), and Break the Chain Campaign at the Institute for Policy Studies.

Caring and Effective Advocate

Born in Venezuela to Chinese immigrants, Elena emigrated to the U.S. in 1986 and understands first-hand how complicated the immigration process can be.  This personal familiarity with the immigration process, together with her extensive professional training and experience, makes Elena a compassionate and effective advocate in immigration matters.  Elena is eager to offer her significant skills and knowledge to help individuals, families, and employers with their immigration needs.
